Our highly successful global gambling client is expanding to Brazil and looking for an experienced Head of Marketing to help deliver the ongoing marketing strategy in the Brazilian market. 

The Role of the Head of Marketing in Brazil

Operating under an online gambling licence, this is a unique opportunity for a highly talented, self-motivated, and experienced professional to manage all activity related to the Brazilian market and lead product, commercial and marketing initiatives. The Head of Marketing will work across all teams in the organisation, and will be responsible for two different platforms in the Country.

Key responsibilities for the Head of Marketing in Brazil:

  • Responsible for growing the business, providing market insights, and helping central teams to deliver market share growth.
  • Working with the internal marketing team, the internal design studio, and external advertising agencies (as required) to lead the development and execution of all relevant ATL and digital marketing campaign assets based on the approved yearly marketing communications strategy, including all applicable testing and optimisation.
    • ATL activity is currently defined as TV, radio, sponsorships, out-of-home, DM/door drop advertising – plus other offline channels as defined by the evolution of the yearly media strategy
    • Digital marketing includes PPC search and paid social, connected TV, programmatic, app install campaigns, email campaigns, organic social media, native ads – among others.
  • Specifically, this will include the following:
    • Writing ad hoc tactical and strategic agency briefs for all required ATL and digital campaigns.
    • Manage agency briefings and overall creative development process from briefing to ad production, ensuring all ads are delivered on time, to brief and on budget – approved by all the relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Work with retained media and creative agency to manage all supporting marketing admin, such as estimating/invoicing, monthly rotation plans, usage negotiations etc.
    • Monitor the earned media strategies of competing online casinos/sports betting companies (and other verticals) to define best practices and use that insight to drive ongoing strategy improvements
  • Ongoing reporting of marketing campaigns’ performance and optimisation.
  • Through adequate management of the yearly marketing budget meet monthly, quarterly and yearly business KPIs e.g new depositing players, CPAs, channels’ ROI.
  • Develop and manage a small local marketing team.
  • Beyond marketing, monitor overall main business KPIs to ensure targets in forecast are reached.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to capture and optimize opportunities
  • Coordination with Compliance to make sure they are aligned with the licence requirements.
  • Be the company´s eyes in the Geo- by supporting central departments (CRM, product, payment processing etc) whilst ensuring company-wide awareness of all relevant innovations in competitors, suggesting and proposing implementations in our product offering to surpass competitors.
  • Propose strategic alliances with other companies for win-win collaborations.

Key Skills/experience required

  • +3 years’ experience in online gambling, as Senior Marketing Manager or Country Manager.
  • Senior Candidates with solid experience in related highly competitive and regulated e-commerce industries will also be considered (preference for digital companies performance oriented, digital startups, companies with strict regulatory pressure).
  • Specific experience managing Advertising and Media agencies
  • Thorough understanding of the local media landscape including relationships with media owners and publishers.
  • Track record launching new brands into a highly competitive and regulated industry.
  • Hands on creative development experience
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
  • Strong understanding of Brazilian demographics, culture, and the media consumers
  • Team working skills – the ability to build relationships internally and externally. Experience working with internal and external agencies and business partners.
  • Confident, with strong initiative and ability to multitask and deliver on time and on budget with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication, Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English, with ability to communicate in this language to the senior levels of the company.
